This world class whitewater course for the Russian Whitewater Slalom Federation was completed and opened in the Summer of 2023.
Featuring a gently curving main competition channel, with the very best spectator sight lines and TV filming coverage, the whitewater descends a series of features and pools before entering the main lake. The channel hydraulics learn from EPD’s hydraulic modelling of the highly successful Lee Valley Whitewater centre channels and are the perfect balance of head, flow and channel dimensions for excellent but economic whitewater in a pumped venue.
An associated shorter, lower head and flow, training channel allows lower cost operation for beginners and intermediate athletes to train with progression through to the main course.
The venue has already very successfully hosted the Russian championships and is now the home to the Russian Federation team and development Academy.
Intended to receive the RapidBlocs Whitewater Obstacle system, UK Government sanctions prohibited the export of the system. It is hoped that the channels will incorporate the RapidBlocs when the situation changes and the venue will also look to host International events in the future when possible.
