EPD has a long history with the development of the Fort William Tailrace project.
EPD advised and worked with the main client bodies through negotiations with the tailrace Factory management and also assisted in getting the project out to tender for engineering design.
EPD produced an exceptionally adaptable and resilient engineering solution to the issue of getting water from the tailrace, through a whitewater course and then back into the River Lochy. EPD also developed a highly flexible whitewater course arrangement that allowed duel use of the channel with a dominate high volume freestyle feature in the winter months and an attractive easy flow / easy rider course for tourist activities in the summer with self guided duckies and small rafts running the toned down rapids.
